another great Counterpoint year!
Our mission as the Counterpoint Parent Organization (CPO) is to
support the organization, its students, and Director, Mrs. Pat Wiehe.
Many opportunities exist for parents to help and be involved.
Below are the CPO Officers and Chairs and Committees. Please note
we need you! Please volunteer for any of the openings.

Whatever your interest or talent, we have a job for you! Getting
involved is a great way to get to know the other parents, and more importantly,
all the Counterpoints!
Forms
Health forms must be completed in full, notarized and returned with your
singer on the first day of camp week. Additionally, please attach a photo
copy of your health insurance card (front and back). We also request a
photo copy of your student's NC ID. This information is for the safety
and protection of your student.
FINANCIAL PROJECTIONS FOR THE YEAR
The following is our best projection for your personal budgeting. Exact
amounts will be received as they become available. Each student has an
account to which expenses are charged. You will receive a monthly statement
from the treasurer, detailing these expenses. Your student will have fund-raising
opportunities through car washes, fruit sales and trash bags. A general
fundraiser "FUND-IT" will be used this year to raise money for
the entire group. While no formal program for financial assistance exists,
you are encouraged to discuss your own circumstances with Mrs. Wiehe if
you will need to set up and extended payment plan.
All seniors will be notified of any outstanding balance the beginning
of March. Any senior accounts that are not paid in full are reported to
NCHS by the middle of March in preparation for graduation requirements.
EXPENSE/COST/DUE DATE
Costume Fee is expected to be $500. The first half, $250, is due the beginning
of Camp week, July 27, 2010. The remaining $250 is due Nov. 1, 2010. The
kids get to keep their Show Choir outfits at the end of the year.
Boys wanting to wear their Counterpoint tuxes or suits outside of Counterpoint
events may do so for a $15 fee per occasion, to be paid up front. Please
ask Mrs. Wiehe each time you want to borrow it.
For all new Counterpoints the following additional items will be required.
Shoes/$60/ camp
Rugby/ $25/ September
T Shirt/$10/ Fall
Spirit/ $10
Hoodies/ $35
Hose/ $15/ as needed for the girls
Socks/$2.00/ as needed
Shoes, Rugbys and CP T-shirts are on time expenses. Additionally, women
will need to purchase a black long line bra with built-in panty or a long
line and black trunks. These items are needed during Camp week. Kinney's
will come to outfit new students with shoes. It is recommended that all
students have stops put on their shoes and that the girls also purchase
heel braces.

These first three fundraising activities will go directly into the account
of the student who participates in the activity. The following fundraiser,
FUND-IT, will go into a general account.
FUND-IT: This is a new fundraiser for Counterpoints. It is for non-profit
and charitable organizations. Exclusive 5 year agreement between Yahoo
and Funditbenefitbar.com. We don't buy or sell anything. No out of pocket
expense. Funditbenefitbar.com will create a customized toolbar for Counterpoints
that members, friends and alumni can download to their internet browser.
Our toolbar will also include additional helpful links for ourselves and
supporters of CP. There are NO pop ups, spyware, viruses, adware; our
privacy is protected and it will not replace existing toolbars. An adult
filter is on the toolbar. The download process takes less than a minute
and the toolbar is un-intrusive.
We make $0.10 each time someone does a normal, everyday internet search
click; using the search engine powered by Yahoo located within our organization's
customized toolbar. A click is defined as the opening of a sponsor result.
Sponsor results are highlighted in blue at the top and down the right
side, of the page. There will usually be up to 4 sponsor results at the
top center of the page and up to 6 more to the right side of the page.
Only click on sponsored links that have information that benefit you.
You do not have to purchase anything, you only have to click and do an
honest search and we will receive $0.10 per search. Fund-it can determine
if fraudulent clicks are being done. If we perform fraudulent searches
(repeated quick clicks on a sponsored site) our organization will be deactivated.
Average $2.50 to$4.00 per month per active toolbar. Revenue is paid monthly
and is transparent. $10 maintenance fee taken out of payment if revenue
exceeds $50 a month. We can discontinue at any time without any penalty.
We will send an email to our data base of people that will ask them to
go to a web page designed for Counterpoints that will have information
and a link to download the toolbar.
Diane McDaniel will email each of us when this is ready to start.
IMPORTANT DATES AND POLICIES
Car Washes: June 11, 20, July 25, August 8 ?????
Wardrobe fittings: June 15, 24, July 7, 17, one day during camp week
July 27, 2010: $250 due first day of camp, health forms notarized
Nov 1, 2010: remaining $250 due
All counterpoint participants are expected to behave according to the
school conduct code. No illicit drugs or alcohol are permitted on school
property or at any school/counterpoint function off campus.
$15 each time a counterpoint borrows a tux or suit.
Counterpoints are expected to come and go on the school bus for Counterpoint
events unless Mrs. Wiehe gives permission otherwise.
